The Coffee Toronto

The Coffee

The Coffee is a modern, minimalist coffeehouse that combines convenience, tech, and specialty beans.

With a presence in 19 countries and over 300 stores worldwide, the King West Village location marks the global coffee chain's Canadian debut. A second Toronto spot has since opened in the vibrant Entertainment District, and a third is coming soon to Yorkville.

When asked about the expansion, Felipe Assis, CEO of The Coffee's Canadian operation, shared, "Canada reflects many of the values that define The Coffee: quality, diversity, and a strong appreciation for culture and design. Toronto was a natural first step - it's a vibrant, multicultural city with a well-developed coffee scene and a curious, open-minded audience."

The Coffee TorontoThe Coffee was founded by brothers Alexandre, Carlos, and Luis Fertonani, who set out to bring Tokyo's to-go coffee culture to Brazil. After opening the first store in 2018, they rapidly expanded to bring Brazilian specialty coffee, served in Japanese fashion, to a global audience.

Whether a coffee purist or more experimental, the menu offers something for everyone.

You'll find hot and cold staples like cold brew, iced lattes, Americanos, and cappuccinos, alongside specialty signature drinks and seasonal beverages, from hot honey lattes to icy gelato frappes.

The Coffee TorontoThe Chai Iced Latte ($5.90) is made with a house blend of cinnamon, ginger, fennel, black pepper, cloves, and star anise. The spice mix gives the beverage a warm and cozy feel, with a taste similar to freshly baked gingerbread.

The Coffee TorontoFor something that leans slightly on the sweeter side, the Honey Latte ($5.90) combines a honey base with chocolate and a warm spice blend.

The Coffee TorontoOne of the top sellers is the iced Ichigo Matcha ($6.90). It blends earthy Japanese matcha with a house-made strawberry compote.

The Coffee TorontoThe Salted Caramel ($6.90) is an iced latte with a sweet and salty caramel drizzle. Creamy and rich, it leans more toward dessert than coffee.

The Coffee TorontoWith warmer weather on the way, the Gelato Frappe Matcha ($8.90) offers the best of both worlds. Part vanilla ice cream and part matcha, it's creamy and refreshing.

The Coffee TorontoOrdering takes place through the tablet at the front of the store or directly via The Coffee's mobile app.

While it's not the same as chatting with your local barista, it's quick and convenient and makes customizing your order especially easy. Plus, there's just something fun about ordering with pictures.

The Coffee TorontoAside from beverages, a small selection of daily bakery items is perfect for dipping, dunking, and nibbling. Cookies, muffins, brownies, cakes, and croissants are just a few of the options available for when you need a little treat.

The Coffee TorontoThe Carrot Cake ($4.90) is soft, sweet, and gently spiced, and for something more substantial, there's a gooey mozzarella, parmesan, and cheese-cured Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($8).

The Coffee TorontoWhen it comes to the interiors, The Coffee is known for its minimalist design. The space is airy and clean, with sand-toned floors, tables, and panelling set against white walls.

Inherently calming and laptop-friendly, it's a great spot to catch up on work or take a break from the city's hustle and bustle.

The Coffee TorontoThe Coffee is located at 901 King St West.
