Fashion Art Toronto celebrates 20 years with biggest fashion week yet

Fashion Art Toronto's spring/summer fashion week is right around the corner but, as the event celebrates 20 years as the city's premier fashion event, the festivities are extending well beyond just one week.

Set to take over the breathtaking T3 Bayside building between May 29 and June 1, Fashion Art Toronto (FAT) returns with yet another fashion week highlighting local designers, artists and innovators just as it has for the past 20 years.

For the first time ever, though, the festivities of spring/summer Toronto fashion week 2025 will also extend across the city for the entire month of May, giving Toronto residents ample chance to get a glimpse into the cutting edge of local fashion.

May events

Things kick off on May 8 as FAT returns to Artist Project with a grand-opening runway show by Lunara and a pop-up boutique with ready-to-wear pieces from 11 local designers.

On May 15, FAT is getting back to its guerrilla roots with a secret pop-up runway show, the details of which are set to be announced through their social media the day of.

Friday, May 23 brings a collaboration between FAT and The Bentway as the public event venue launches its spring and summer Sun/Shade art exhibition with a huge party hosted by Canada’s Drag Race’s Jada Shada Hudson.

The next day, there's a huge free-to-attend 20-year anniversary party happening at the Distillery District with pop-ups, in-store activations and a retrospective runway show featuring some of the most influential designers to hit the FAT catwalk over the past two decades.

A timely Shop Canadian campaign rounds out the month between May 25 and 28, with exclusive drops from Toronto-based labels, a Retail to Runway panel at Holt Renfrew, sip-and-shop events and discounts at participating retailers, including Gotstyle and U3, to encourage consumers to uplift well-deserving hometown talent.

Fashion week

The month of style culminates with a vibrant spring/summer fashion week running from May 29 to June 1, where dozens of local designers will bring their latest works to the catwalk.

The week kicks off with an epic group show presented by Fashion Magazine that includes designs from Sons of Man, Abo Project, Offtn and Kerotix at 5 p.m., followed up by presentations from the likes of Lesley Hampton and Sagradesa throughout the rest of the night.

On day two, some highlights include shows from Neechi By Nature and Scheduled Meditation, as well as a show curated by FAT sponsor Kronenbourg 1664, highlighting accessories from Saint-Isidore, Rachel Sudbury and Beautopie.

Saturday, May 31, plays host to an even larger block of runway shows, including one from 2025 FASHN DISRPTR award recipient Dunne Cliff, while Sunday brings all the festivities to a fever pitch, culminating in a vibrant and voluminous show from Qweenfecy Clothing to close it all out.

All the while, you'll also be able to check out a 20-year retrospective exhibition at T3 Bayside all weekend long, while shopping creations from a slew of local fashion and beauty brands at the pop-up boutique.

Tickets for Fashion Art Toronto spring/summer 2025 are on sale now through FAT's website, and grant admission to a full day of the festival, including runway shows, exhibitions and the boutique.
