Festival featuring hundreds of exotic cars taking over a Toronto street this spring

One of Toronto's most cherished car events is gearing up to make its great return this spring, marking the 15th annual iteration of the event.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: street festivals are one of the — if not the — best part(s) of spring and summer in Toronto. The knowledge that weekends filled with time spent aimlessly ogling vendor booths and crushing street barbecue just sends a shiver down my spine.

We've still got some time yet before the peak of street festival season hits, though, which means that, for now, the announcements of festivals to come are enough to keep me going, and the latest across the airwaves is the return of the Yorkville Exotic Car Show this June.

Screeching into one of the city's swankiest neighbourhoods on Father's Day, the show is marking its 15th year in style, with a dazzling array of spectacular vehicles taking over Bloor Street for one (hopefully) sunny day only.

You can expect to see a staggering red-carpet display of over 135 classic and exotic luxury cars, including brands like Aston Martin, Corvette, Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini, spanning from Avenue Road to Yonge Street.

Even if you don't identify as a car enthusiast, though, there are still good times in store for you.

In addition to the cars, you'll get the chance to catch live performances from local legends, including — but not limited to — Ale Nunez, Dr. Draw & The Strange Parade, Johnny Max Band and Los Locos.

As always, the best part of the entire festival is that it's all happening for a good cause. While it's free to attend and open to the public, the car show is held in support of Melanoma Canada, which advocates for and supports Canadians living with melanoma and skin cancer.

A returning favourite from years past, the Melanoma Canada Mole Mobile will also be on-site, where certified dermatologists will be offering free skin cancer screenings and skin cancer prevention education.

The Yorkville Exotic Car Show shifts into high gear between 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on June 15; the perfect way to spend Father's Day, if you ask me!
