Toronto's weekly beach party is coming back this summer

It's almost time to pack your swimsuit with your dancing shoes, because Toronto's legendary weekly beach parties are coming back for the season next month.

For the past 25 years, Promise, one of the city's leading organizations in the inclusive-and-unique event space, has been transforming Cherry Beach into an open-air party pad every Sunday of the summer, and 2025 is shaping up to be no different.

A stalwart element of Toronto summer, the parties have only grown in popularity among regular and aspiring attendees alike, and while they've been the recipient of some vitriol in past years, I'd say that it's one of the more positive ones, too.

The parties are held every Sunday or holiday Monday from June 15 until Labour Day from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., giving you the chance to dance under the sun before taking in a breathtaking Lake Ontario sunset at one of my personal favourite beaches in the city.

Don't be expecting some hack job DJ spinning tired top 40 tunes; each event features a curated lineup of DJs hailing from Toronto and around the world, so that, while you're never getting the same party twice, you can always rely on some solid tunes to fuel the party.

The parties themselves are all-ages, so everyone can get in on the good times, but, for those hoping to sip on some adult beverages while they party, there is a bar on-site supplying drinks from a number of local breweries, distilleries and beverage companies.

Tickets for all 12 dates are on sale now through Promise's website, and if spending your Sunday evening dancing in the sun is your idea of fun, you'll want to scoop yours up soon, because they're going fast.

Ticket prices start at $35, but attendees 25 and under can score theirs at a discounted rate of $25. You can also opt for a $175 season pass that guarantees entry into any and all Promise Cherry Beach parties this summer.

Just make sure you wear sunscreen!
