Any Canadians in the market for Starlink will want to take advantage of the satellite internet company's latest deal: $0 hardware.
New Starlink customers can get the 'Standard' hardware kit for free with a 12-month Residential plan "in select areas." That plan costs $140 per month.
The Standard kit typically costs $499 in Canada and includes a satellite dish, kickstand, router and the necessary cables. However, lately it's been on sale for around half that quite often.
Per the terms on the Starlink website, the deal includes a 30-day trial period with a full refund, so if you go for it and end up disliking the internet service, you can get your money back.
However, if you change your service address, cancel, fail to pay your bill on time, transfer your kit to another user or cancel during the 30-day period (and fail to return the kit), Starlink will charge a fee.
Regarding the availability of the deal in "select areas," Starlink provided a map showing where the deal is available. It's not particularly clear, but presumably, when you punch in your address during the order process, it will clarify if you're in one of the select areas.

Overall, this does seem like a pretty solid deal.
Several months ago we wrote about a deal to get the hardware for $200, so to get it for free now with the same monthly cost is really solid. Assuming, of course, that you want to stick with the service for 12 months (and you can stomach Elon Musk and his now-controversial brand).
