Lakeside Ontario resort offers relaxing spa amenities in Muskoka

It's an Ontario summer, baby! There's truly no need to leave the province if you’re hoping to take a little getaway over the next few months. Ontario's cottage country has plenty of stays, inns and resorts, including one of our favourites – Touchstone Resort.

Touchstone is tucked along the shores of Lake Muskoka in Bracebridge, offering luxurious spa services, fantastic restaurants, and some of the best lake views in the area.

Let's start with the spa, a.k.a. one of the greatest parts of Touchstone.

The menu includes a list of massages, facials, manicures and pedcures. When I went, I had the lifting facial, which helped remove dead skin cells and restore radiance — and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint.

Want to hit the water? There are plenty of pools to sit by, including an infinity pool and a lakeside beach pool. If you prefer hot tubs, they've got those too.

One of Muskoka's only natural sand beaches is also on-site for those who love to lie on the shore.

For sleeping accommodations, the options are seemingly endless:

  • A main lodge area with deluxe single rooms and two-bedroom suites with stone fireplaces
  • Beach house villas just steps away from the beachfront
  • Boathouse villas with views of the lake
  • The Grand Muskokan, right by the private beach
  • The Cascades, with two floors in each unit
  • The Treetops atop the cliffs at the highest point on Lake Muskoka

While the resort can be booked year-round, it's the perfect little warm-weather getaway.

Touchstone Resort is located at 1869 Muskoka District Rd. 118 W. in Bracebridge, Ontario.
