$4 million Ontario home is one of the most iconic properties in the neighbourhood

One of the most iconic properties in one Ontario town is on the market for just under $4 million, and one look inside indicates that it'll be one hot listing indeed.

Standing proud at nearly 8,500 sq. ft., it would perhaps be more apt to describe Dundas, Ontario's 36 Cayley Street as a mansion, or even a palace, than a house, with breathtaking interior design that blends original Tudor-esque elements with contemporary finishes.

The home is located just steps from the equally stunning Dundas Driving Park and a short distance from other appealing features like the Lower Sydenham Falls, local restaurants and Highway 8.

That said, when your house looks like this, I wouldn't fault you for never wanting to leave at all.

The ballroom.

Starting off with a bang, the home's grand ballroom (yes, this house has a grand ballroom) boasts 20-ft. ceilings and stands at a staggering 730 sq. ft.

While the current owners have opted to adapt it as an additional living space, I do imagine, in all of my limited experience with the subject matter, it would be quite a great spot to throw a ball, if you're into that sort of thing.

The living room.

For less, shall we say, regal gatherings, the ground floor of the home also features a cozy living space complete with distinguished wood accents, built-in bookshelves and a commanding marble fireplace.

I use the word 'cozy' liberally here, because this living room is 630 sq. ft., which is bigger than some Toronto apartments.

The dining room.

The breathtaking dining room just looks like it would make food would taste better, and not only because this is the sort of home that screams "I have a personal chef."

It features lofty ceilings adorned with ornamental crown moulding, and a back wall comprised entirely of windows alongside a set of French doors that lead directly to the equally impressive backyard. But more on that later.

The kitchen.

If you don't happen to have a personal chef, you'll find the spacious kitchen to be a deeply accommodating space. Flooded with natural light, it includes all of the appliances and elements you need to whip up a killer meal, which can be eaten from the bright adjoining breakfast nook if you're feeling less formal.

A bedroom.

On the second floor, you'll find a whopping six bedrooms.

While not technically the primary bedroom, one enormous 350 sq. ft. suite could certainly fit the bill, featuring windows on all four walls and a spacious walk-in closet.

The bathroom.

It's also home to a sleek ensuite bathroom separated from the bedroom with a unique column partition for a stylish twist.

Another bedroom.

The actual primary bedroom is an equally worthy haunt. Situated on the east wing of the home, it gets a deluge of early morning light and features a 50 sq. ft. walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom so, you know, it'll do.

The in-law suite.

At the south end of the home, you'll find a full in-law suite with a separate entrance, laundry and a complete kitchen so you can see those in-laws of yours as much (or as little) as you'd like to.

The backyard.

The sprawling, resort-like backyard is a draw entirely of its own, with a sleek pool, fully-equipped outdoor kitchen and custom-built pergola, virtually eliminating any and all need to go on vacation ever again. Or at least until the winter.

On top of all that, the property features a large driveway and four-car garage.
